WordPress support, maintenance & development

Stop being your own WordPress support team.

You did not start this business to read security advisories or roll back a plugin at eleven at night. We handle updates, security, speed, malware, WooCommerce and the builds you have been putting off. Everything gets tested on a private copy of your site first, so your live site never finds out we were there.

In plain terms

What WordPress support actually means

WordPress support is the ongoing work of keeping a live site secure, updated, fast and recoverable, plus the on-call capacity to fix it when something breaks anyway.

Four words, and every provider claims all four. So here is what each one costs us to actually deliver, in the order a site usually fails.

The difference is never the task list. It is whether anyone checked your checkout still worked after the update went out.

01

Secure

Not a plugin on default settings. A person deciding what your specific site needs, then watching it.

  • Server-level scans, daily
  • Firewall tuned per site
  • Login & role hardening
  • Vulnerability tracking

02

Updated

Every update goes to a private copy of your site first. If it breaks there, it stays there.

  • Staging-first, every plan
  • 15 post-update checks
  • Checkout on a test order
  • PHP version managed

03

Fast

Measured on the field data Google actually ranks on, not a lab score you screenshot once.

  • LCP, INP and CLS tracked
  • Caching & CDN configured
  • Database kept clean
  • Images optimized

04

Recoverable

A backup on the same server as your site is not a backup. It is a second copy of the same risk.

  • Daily, stored off-site
  • 30 days of history
  • Restore under 15 minutes
  • Uptime checked every 60s

One thing we will not claim

That your site can never be hacked. Nobody honest sells that. What we do is cut the risk sharply, clean it up at our cost if it happens on a monitored plan, and put both of those promises in writing.

Common problems

Does any of this sound familiar?

We hear these four every week. Every one of them was preventable, and none of them was the owner’s fault.

01

You found out from a customer

No alert. No warning. Just a message saying “hey, your website is down.” By the time you saw it, the site had been offline four hours and the contact form had eaten every enquiry.

02

An update wrecked your checkout

A plugin updated on its own overnight. Something conflicted. Now your WooCommerce checkout shows a blank screen, orders have stopped, and you do not know how to roll it back.

04

The site is slow and nobody can say why

PageSpeed says 42. You cleared the cache twice. Nothing moved. Your host says everything is fine on their end, and Google keeps ranking on field data from real phones.

Not on this list? Send us the URL anyway. The audit is free and we will tell you if your site is actually fine, which happens more often than you would expect.

What we handle

Ten things that go wrong with WordPress. One team for all of them.

Why one team and not five. Most of these problems are the same problem wearing different clothes. A slow store and a hacked store and a store that broke after an update usually trace back to the same neglected plugin. When one team holds the whole picture, nobody gets to say “that is a hosting issue” and hang up.

Care plans

WordPress maintenance

Core, theme and plugin updates staged and tested before they go near production. Daily off-site backups with 30 days of history, 60-second uptime checks, and a monthly report written in sentences instead of dashboards.

Stores

WooCommerce maintenance

Payment gateways verified monthly, checkout timed on a real test order, order-table indexes kept clean. After every maintenance cycle an engineer walks the journey your customers walk, because automated tests do not notice a silently broken Add to Cart.

🔒

Hardening

WordPress security

File permissions, wp-config protection, fresh security keys, a tuned firewall, two-factor rollout and tighter user roles. A plugin on default settings stops the automated stuff. A person deciding what your specific site needs closes the rest.

Performance

Speed optimization

We profile the site to find what is actually slow, fix it at the source, and write your target scores into the quote. If we miss them, you get a refund. You also get live test links you can re-run yourself, not a screenshot.

Cleanup

Malware removal

Spam redirects, Japanese keyword hacks, host suspensions, Google warnings. We strip the infection by hand, hunt the backdoors an automated scanner misses, submit the blacklist review, then patch the hole the attacker used.

Free, and yours either way

Not sure which of these you need? Start with the audit.

Send your URL and sign up free. We scan for outdated software, known vulnerabilities, plugin conflicts, current speed scores and whether your existing backups actually restore. You get the written report whether or not you hire us.

How we work

Step by step, no surprises

A lot of providers hand you a login form and start billing. Here is what actually happens, in order, and when.

01

Day 1–2 Β· free

We audit before we touch anything

Outdated software, known vulnerabilities, plugin conflicts, current speed scores, and whether your backups actually restore. You get the report even if you walk away. If we find something serious we tell you before we start, not after the invoice.

02

Week 1

Your site gets its own staging copy

A private clone where we test everything first. Nothing we do there can reach your live site. This is the step the $29 automation tools skip, and it is the step that prevents the blank-checkout scenario.

03

Every cycle

Updates run against fifteen checks

Homepage load, contact forms, login flow, search, checkout on a real test order, and the pages your visitors actually use. Only then does anything go to production. If something fails, it stays in staging until it is fixed.

04

Daily

Security scanning that runs at server level

Not just a plugin running inside WordPress, which is the first thing an attacker disables. We scan files daily, watch for suspicious logins, and track new vulnerability disclosures against your specific plugin list.

05

Included on Growth & Agency

If you get hacked, we fix it

We have seen sites compromised while fully up to date, hit through a vulnerability with no patch yet. When it happens on our watch we remove the malware, close the entry point and verify the site is clean. Average cleanup under four hours, at no extra charge.

06

Monthly

A report you can actually read

What we updated, what the scans found, your uptime percentage, and speed scores before and after. If something needs your attention we say so plainly. Growth and Agency clients can book a call to go through it.

The numbers

Results as plain numbers, not green screenshots

Anyone can show you a green dial. A screenshot cannot be re-run and cannot be checked. Here is what our work typically produces, written as numbers you can verify on Google’s own tools.

Comparison

Why not a plugin, a $50 gig, or your existing web agency?

Fair question, and for a simple brochure site a well-configured plugin can genuinely be enough. Here is where the differences actually show up, so you can decide with clear eyes instead of a sales pitch.

Being straight about it: if your site is a hobby project with no revenue attached, a good caching plugin and a free backup service will serve you fine. We have talked people out of a plan on the first call. It is a shorter conversation than the refund.

The arithmetic

This is not an expense. It is the cheaper option.

Here is what the numbers look like when nobody is watching the site, using published research rather than our own marketing.

What an unmaintained site costs

🔒

Security breach, emergency cleanup

$2,000 to $15,000 in developer fees, plus Google blacklisting, plus the customers who read the warning screen and never came back.

💰

Downtime, per minute

Gartner puts average ecommerce revenue loss at $5,600 per minute. For a $500K store, fifteen minutes offline costs more than a year of the Growth plan.

Source: Gartner

Speed, per tenth of a second

Google and Deloitte’s “Milliseconds Make Millions” study found a 0.1 second speed improvement lifted retail conversions by 8.4% and average order value by 9.2%.

Doing it yourself

Five hours a month reading advisories and chasing plugin conflicts. At $100 an hour of your own time that is $500 a month, spent without a staging environment or a safety net.

DevsTeam Growth plan

$99/mo

Staged and tested updates, real human QA, daily off-site backups, a written 2-hour response SLA, hack cleanup included, and a monthly report you can read.

One avoided emergency covers roughly 13 to 100 months of maintenance. Most sites avoid more than one a year.

Specialist tracks

Two situations that need their own answer

Store owners and agencies buy this differently from everyone else, so we run both differently.

WooCommerce stores need WooCommerce people

A broken checkout is not an inconvenience. It is revenue leaving in real time. Generic WordPress providers often do not know the architecture well enough to diagnose a store failure quickly, and cart pages cannot be served from cache, so they need fast code rather than a caching plugin.

  • Payment gateways verified every month, not assumed
  • Checkout timed on a real test order after each cycle
  • Order tables and session data optimized, carefully
  • Extension updates checked against your live purchase flow
  • Maintenance windows scheduled around your quiet hours

Agencies get cover their clients never see

Every agency has gaps. Weekends, holidays, staff turnover, and the occasional problem outside your team’s depth. When a client site breaks at eleven at night and your developer is not answering, we are the call you make, and nobody has to know you made it.

  • We work under your brand, in your project tool
  • Reports written for you to forward without editing
  • Same 2-hour response SLA for your clients
  • Out-of-hours and weekend overflow
  • Volume pricing from five sites, NDA as standard

Who it’s for

We are not for everyone, and we will say so

The fastest way to waste both our time is to sign up for something that was never going to fit. So here is the honest split.

Good fit

  • Your site generates leads, bookings or sales, so downtime has a number attached to it
  • You have had a security scare, or you are tired of being the person who runs the updates
  • You need someone who replies in hours, not next Tuesday
  • You run WooCommerce or a membership site with paying users
  • You inherited a site from a developer who has gone quiet
  • You manage client sites and want white-label support and reports
  • You have been meaning to sort this out for longer than you would like to admit

Not a fit

  • Your site is a hobby project with no revenue at stake. A caching plugin and a free backup service will do
  • You want unlimited custom development for $99 a month. Maintenance does not cover that, and pretending otherwise ends badly
  • You need a full redesign. That is a separate project with a separate scope
  • Your site is static HTML with no WordPress underneath it
  • You want a guarantee that you can never be hacked. Nobody honest sells that
  • You have an in-house developer with time on their hands

Not sure which column you are in? Send the URL. The audit is free and we will tell you honestly, including when the answer is that you do not need us. Start the free audit.

FAQ

Questions we get asked a lot

What does a WordPress support plan actually include?

Every plan covers staged and tested updates for WordPress core, themes and plugins, daily off-site backups with 30 days of history, daily security scanning, uptime checks every 60 seconds, free SSL and a monthly report. Growth adds a staging environment, hack cleanup, a written 99.9% uptime SLA, CDN and caching, and three edit tasks a month. Agency adds ten tasks, WooCommerce checkout testing, white-label reports and a dedicated account manager.

How much does WordPress maintenance cost?

Ours runs $49 to $149 a month, and WooCommerce stores are priced the same, on their own cycle. Those prices assume a three-month minimum; six months paid up front takes 10% off and a year takes 20%. One-time work is priced separately: emergency fixes from $97, security hardening from $299, speed optimization from $149, custom builds from $3,400.

The more useful question is what it costs to have no plan. A single plugin-caused checkout outage typically runs $1,000 to $5,000 in emergency fixes plus the lost revenue. A breach runs $2,000 to $15,000 to clean up. Most sites recover the monthly cost in the first emergency they avoid.

How do you update WordPress without breaking my site?

We do not touch your live site directly. Updates go to a staging clone first, where we run fifteen checks: homepage, contact forms, login, search, checkout on a real test order, and the pages that matter most to your visitors. If anything breaks there, it stays there until we fix it. Only then does it go live.

What happens if my site gets hacked while you are managing it?

On Growth and Agency plans, cleanup is covered at no extra charge. We have handled this more times than we would like, including on sites that were fully up to date and hit through a vulnerability the vendor had not patched yet. We remove the malware, trace and close the entry point, submit any blacklist review, and verify the site is clean. Average cleanup time is under four hours.

How fast do you respond when something breaks?

Starter is email with an 8 business hour target. Growth is a priority queue with a written 2-hour SLA. Agency gets a dedicated account manager and an emergency line for site-down situations. Emergency support is open to non-clients too, on the same terms: two hours inside desk hours, eight at the outside, weekends and holidays included.

Do you work with WooCommerce stores?

Yes, and they get their own plans because stores fail differently. Payment gateways have their own update cycles and PCI requirements. The order database needs careful optimization rather than a standard cleanup script. Extensions break each other in ways that only show up during an actual purchase, not during general browsing. So after every cycle an engineer places a real test order and times the checkout.

Can you take over a site built by someone else?

That is one of the most common ways people arrive here. We start with a full technical audit, document the stack including any custom code and non-standard configuration, and give you a clear picture of the technical debt. If there are active vulnerabilities, and there usually are, we address those in week one before regular cycles begin.

Do I need a plan, or can I just pay for one fix?

You can pay for one fix. Emergency repairs, malware cleanup, security hardening and speed work are all available without a subscription, and we will not push you onto a plan during a crisis. Once your site is stable we will tell you honestly whether ongoing care makes sense for your situation.

Do you offer white-label support for agencies?

Yes, under NDA as standard. We work in your project tool, follow your communication standards, and write delivery notes for you to forward without editing. Your clients see your brand throughout. It works particularly well for out-of-hours cover and for technically complex jobs outside your team’s immediate depth. Volume pricing starts at five sites.

Is there a contract, and can I cancel?

No contracts and no cancellation fees. Every plan is month to month. Cancel before your next billing date and you will not be charged again. There is also a 14-day money-back guarantee on your first month. We do not lock anyone in, because the only reason to stay should be that the work is good.
